About Me
Oreo is a young dog who is still learning how to navigate the world and build positive connections with people. This is his second stay at the shelter, and after 308 days in care, he has been working on his people skills and leash training.
He is food-motivated and enjoys treats, affection, and a good game of fetch—even if bringing the ball back is still optional in Oreo’s version of the game. His willingness to engage and learn can make training a meaningful way for him to build trust and bond with his person.
Oreo is currently listed as at risk for behavioral reasons. At El Paso Animal Services, animals on the at-risk list may be at risk of euthanasia because of medical, behavioral, quality-of-life, or shelter-capacity factors. Being on the list does not necessarily mean that Oreo has an immediate euthanasia deadline.
Oreo would benefit from a patient, consistent adopter, foster, or rescue who can give him structure, continued training, and the time he needs to keep developing his confidence and skills.
